Resumen: El debate entre Naturaleza y Cultura está evidenciando aspectos que ningún determinista biológico o cultural hubiera esperado. Este trabajo considera tres áreas de investigación que brindan aproximaciones sobre las cuales los antropólogos deberíamos informarnos: la neurociencia cognitiva, la psicología evolucionaria y la genética conductual. No se trata de subsumir ningún saber a disciplinas cuyos objetos de estudio se encuentran en otro nivel, sino de mostrar cómo la constitución humana se desenvuelve entre la biología, la cultura y el ambiente. En esta interrelación, la noción de cultura no puede ser entendida como arbitraria, maleable o independiente de la biología humana y del contexto ambiental en el cual se desarrolla.

Abstract: The long term debate on Nature / Culture dichotomy is evidencing aspects that neither biological nor cultural determinists would have expected. The following paper considers/presents three research areas which offer different approaches that should be taken into consideration by all anthropologist: cognitive neuroscience, evolutionary psychology and behavioral genetics. Te goal is not to subsume a discipline under another. On the contrary, I will argue how human constitution develops between biology, culture and the environment. Is withis this interrelationship that the notion of culture can no longer be understood as arbitrary, malleable nor independent from human biology and the enviromental contect in which it develops.
